Best places to dine at this June 2023

Arriving at the halfway mark of the year, we’re all looking forward to spending more time with friends and family as we make our plans to enjoy the mid-year holidays. If you’re looking out for new experiences to check out with loved ones this month, here’s a list to add to your holiday plans.

Marking their voyage into new beginnings, the quaint FiftyFive Coffee Bar presents a fresh concept of coffee and cocktails within a heritage shophouse. Launching a brand new cocktail menu inspired by the seven seas, head over for a laidback evening with your loved ones over artisanal tipples like the fruity Atlantic, complex Mediterranean, and mellow Indian. For coffee lovers, go for their Strawberry Pipagao Latte or opt for filter options like Ethiopian Guji Uraga Layo Terega. For a limited time only, you’ll even get to enjoy your beverages with Japanese-inspired bowls, boasting cold truffle oil capellini, grilled premium eel accompanied with torched flounder fin, and even plump Hiroshima oysters with Hokkaido scallop.

Opening at the new The Woodleigh Mall, Food Republic’s newest outlet is not only spacious and able to accommodate about 250 pax, its nod to Singapore’s cultural diversity features a wide range of beloved offerings from comfort food by Shou Yi Fried Fritters and Fortunate Dim Sum, to Yu Zhong Bu Tong’s fresh fish flavours and Lam’s Noodle & Salt Baked Chicken. Diners with children can also look forward to the brand’s inaugural Kids’ Menu specially curated for the little ones, enticing them with nutirtious flavours and an exclusive Food Republic colouring set with every Kids’ Menu purchase.

Celebrating Kam’s Roast Goose HK’s 9th consecutive 1-Michelin Star accolade, Kam’s Roast is running a special promotion on their delicious and juicy BBQ Char Siew throughout this month. Known for their amazing in-house marinade and succulent roast meats, enjoy their BBQ Char Siew for just $9.90 on Jun 9, 19, and 29. A perfect way to value-add your meal with other signatures like their acclaimed roast duck, roast pork, and soya chicken.

Widely known for their Mee Siam and Satay Bee Hoon, the heart-warming Old Teochew have re-introduced classic local favourites Cuttlefish Jellyfish Kangkong with Fruits and Lontong exclusively at their Tampines outlet. Back by overwhelming demand since they first launched it back in 2018, these dishes are now permanently on the menu at Tampines. Their Lontong’s luscious gravy features a dash of coconut cream for a fuller body and pre-fried tempeh for a nuttier flavour. Serving up a variety of textures and flavours, the Cuttlefish Jellyfish Kangkong with Fruits brings together the crunch of kangkong and fruits with the chewy bite of cuttlefish and jellyfish. If diners prefer it without jellyfish, they can also opt for their Cuttlefish Kangkong with Fruits.

Back for its second year, the exciting culinary festival showcases the wonders of Western Australian produce through special created dishes and drinks at selected restaurants, cafés, and bars around the island throughout the month of June. For the first time this year, the festival will also feature a chef exchange programme between Singapore and Western Australia to learn and share knowledge about local produce before culminating in an exclusive four-hands dinner experience. In Singapore, Executive Chef Lamley Chua will partner Executive Chef Lucas Fernandas from Perth to present a Four-Hands Dinner at Kaarla from Jul 16 to 20.

Introducing the Crab-tivating Bee Hoon Set this season, York Hotel Singapore’s White Rose Café invites us to indulge in a joyful crabby treat, specially curated in honour of Executive Chef Ho Chan Fei’s memory of his mother’s best dish.
