Bond over Joyden Canton Kitchen’s reunion set menus this Chinese New Year
Cantonese dining is undoubtedly amongst the top of Singaporeans’ go-to cuisines when we’re planning to indulge in authentic Chinese food with our family and friends. Renowned for their quality and finesse, Joyden Canton Kitchen has gained a huge following in recent years for their masterful execution of traditional culinary methods that brilliantly showcase the beauty of Chinese cuisine.
In celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year, they’ve also unveiled an amazing line-up of prosperous reunion set menus to welcome the Year of the Rabbit.
This year, their specially curated menus are championed by stellar duck and yam creations. Choose between a six-course and eight-course menu, that both start with the tossing of a traditional Yu Sheng to ring in a prosperous year ahead. Diners get to choose from a classic Crispy Yam with Salmon Prosperity Yu Sheng or go for their Salmon and Abalone option for a more luxurious touch.
Then dig into delectable whole ducks such as the Traditional Braised Eight Treasure Duck, stuffed with water chestnut, chestnut, shiitake mushroom, lotus seed, lily bulb, ginkgo, roast pork, and garlic, then braised for at least two and a half hours. Alternatively, there’s the Traditional Crispy Szechuan Fragrant Duck, marinated with a medley of star anise, bay leaf, and cinnamon before being steamed for three hours, then deep-fried to render perfectly crispy skin. Taste it with the accompanying homemade sambal and kumquat sauce for an added kick of spice.
Complementing the stars are highlights like the familiar Crispy Homemade Yam Ring with Pork Loin & Fresh Scallops in XO Sauce, featuring a treasure trove of pork loin, scallops, cashew nuts, asparagus, shiitake mushroom, and bell peppers, and comforting Steamed Fragrant Glutinous Rice with Yam and Chinese Sausage Topped with Crispy Kai Lan.
Seafood lovers can look forward to a lush experience with their selection of Double-Boiled Superior Fish Maw with Ginseng and Chicken Soup, Steamed Dragon Tiger Grouper with Konjac Noodle in Hong Kong Style, Handmade Seafood Beancurd with Slow Braised Shanghai Baby Cabbage, and more exquisite creations.
Designed to please both the young and old alike, end off the meal on a sweet note with the timeless Traditional Homemade Yam Puree with Pumpkin and Gingko Nuts and irresistible Sago and Pomelo in Mango Puree.
