Living in tropical Singapore, winter has always been one of those things that we love and yearn for. We’re constantly on the lookout for opportunities to escape our year-long summer and immerse ourselves in the magical touch that the cold and snow bring.
Perfectly in time for our end-of-year plans, an exciting winter wonderland has come to Singapore, transporting us away from our sunny island from the moment we enter. Here for the entire month of December, head over to the Bayfront Event Space to check out Ice Magic: The Great Fantasy on Ice.
Occupying a sprawling 2,400sqm, the ultimate winter playground is not just another winter-themed attraction: you’ll find yourself surrounded by fresh, fluffy white snow (probably even cleaner than the natural snow in wintering countries) from the very same machines used in the Beijing Winter Olympics for that authentic experience.
Bedazzle the young ones with activities in the snow, then slide down the longest and tallest snow slope ever constructed in Singapore, as well as a 4.5m high figure-8 ice slide, made purely out of ice and complemented by elaborate ice sculptures from the hands of Harbin’s master sculptors themselves.
While there, go ahead and try your hand at classic winter sports such as Ice Bowling and Ice Curling, an actual Winter Olympic sport. There’s also a spacious 260sqm ice cycling rink with single and tandem bikes so everyone gets to have fun together – definitely a memorable date night idea too!
